Dear Mississippi Healthcare Executives:

Wow! What an eventful first quarter for 2017. There was so much to do and think about. In addition to the normal catch-up work from the holidays, we had our winter chapter meeting, Mardi Gras, Heart Month, and much more.

Additionally, some of our neighbors are recovering from terrible storms which destroyed homes, schools, churches, and impacted entire communities. Please keep these families in your thoughts and provide assistance through one of the many local charities and churches if possible.

As we move forward, the preparation for our June 7th meeting in Point Clear, Alabama is well underway.   See more summer session details below.

As a reminder, there will also be other educational opportunities throughout the year:

1) The Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) will host a panel discussion in Madison, MS on June 20th with ACHE Qualified Education Credits available.

2) The Organization of Nurse Executives will offer an approved F2F panel discussion in Madison, MS in September 2017.

3) The southern region of the chapter will offer a F2F panel in September 2017, as well as the northern region in the October/November 2017 timeframe.

We hope you will attend one or all of these events.

As we provide more events for your calendar we also encourage you to plan personal time and “sharpen the axe.” Go beyond just vacation planning, find some time for lunch with the most important people in your life. Plan to eat lunch with your kids, grandkids, nieces, and nephews during the school week. What may seem to be small events do a great deal to help us remember our priorities. Include these activities on your calendar with the same level of importance as any other meeting!
